MIG Welding (Metal Inert Gas welding) is a type of arc welding process in which a continuous, consumable wire electrode is fed through a welding gun to join two metal pieces. A shielding gas (typically an inert or inert/active-gas mixture) is also fed along to protect the weld area from contamination as the metal melts and fuses.
